Family Hike to Twin Lakes!

Yesterday we decided to go on a hike up in the Jewell Basin, which is about a 45 min. drive to the base. There are so many different hikes you can take from there. We chose a 5 mile round trip for our crew. Our destination was the Twin Lakes. The boys did great and even Eli made it about 4 miles by himself. So fun to hike with our boys and enjoy the beautiful country we live in!
Beginning of our trek!

Family shot midway through the hike.

Check out the drop down the mountain!

We found the lakes! There really were twin lakes, just got one of them in the pic!

Eli doing a mischievious kungfu move!

Yes the trail made me a little nervous in some spots, but the boys did awesome!

We had to stop and let the boys be "rock climbers"

Pretty mountain landscape!

Bjorn doing some type of a superhero pose!

We stopped to pic some huckleberries on the way down! Eli doesn't have very many huckleberries in his bag, too many in his tummy! Super fun day with our boys!!!

Went to the Fair!

So I caved this year and took the boys to the fair on the last day possible!!!! We got free guest passes, so that was a big plus!! I let the boys pick one ride each and then it was all looking around and enjoying the dirty dusty surroundings!! :-) They loved looking at animals, but trying to keep 4 boys from terrorizing the animals is rather difficult to say the least!!! We ended our time with the Demolition Derby, which we waited 1 hour to see because I had the times mixed up. So the boys and I waited in the stands for 1 hour, not ideal, but the end result was well worth the wait!! Eric conveniently was playing football with church guys! He can really make himself scarce when it comes to parades and fairs!!! He did say to me when we got home, 'you are an awesome mom for taking the boys to a demo. derby'! Have to agree, if I may be so blunt! But to see the boys be excited about crashing cars makes it all worth it! I like to go outside of my interests and comfort zone too, and of course the 'thank you so much mom', is a bonus.

Brady being Daffy

Brady talking to Daffy, just kidding, thought it was cute how he got on the ducks level!

Colt also being Daffy

Eli as Tweety Bird

Honestly, this got more satifaction out of the boys then the ride! (cheaper too) Bjorn and the malet!

Brady getting rid of some pent up aggression!

Colt takin' a swing!

The mini malet and Eli

They even got a prize for it, the best part of the deal!!!

Eli's face the entire Derby!! Very focused to say the least!

Let the Derby begin!

Finally Another Post!!! Sorry!

We are finally settled in our rental. We are totally blessed by this place and will be happy with whatever time we get here. The pic below is the view from the back patio, not bad, huh? We look at the Swan Mtns and the Flathead River!!!

Yesterday Eric rigged up a rope to his left truck and made a rope swing for the kids. We had some friends to help us enjoy the rope swing and river on a beautiful MT summer day. Above is Bjorn being the guinea pig on the swing.

Brady getting really high!

Colt always managed to land really uncomfortable!!! He kept going back for more tho!

Bjorn again!
